Synopsis:
Come by boat or walk along the beaches to find a cache hidden in the rocks a few meters above water level near Maltezi beach.

Details:
Maltezi Beach Amorgos
Maltezi beach is situated northwest to Katapola port. It is a sandy beach and by all standards the most picturesque on Amorgos Island. Maltezi beach remains unaffected by the Meltemi winds. The sea here is bluish green and the sand is fine. Due to these qualities it has remained one of the favourite beach destinations among tourists.

How to get there
Maltezi beach can be accessed by boat, plying between Katapola port and Maltezi. Alternately, one can go on foot and walk a trail for about 30 minutes to Maltezi passing through the settlement of Xilokeratidi. One can least expect shade in Maltezi beach and a beach umbrella would be a nice proposition if sunbathing is a priority.

Starting your trip from the parking lot of Katapola you pass the small and picturesque village of Xilokeratidi, it stands out with the church of Tris Ierarches at the begining of the village and nice cafes along the shore.

Follow then the path at N 36° 49.899 E 025° 51.850, walking by a cemtary direcly besides the sea and coming to a small island with the small church of Aghios Pantelemonas

The cache
The cache container is a round plastic box approximately 12cm in diameter hidden below ground but above the water in a hole in the cliff that is easily reachable and well seen from the beach of maltezi. Watch your step as the cache is in an exposed position!
